A collision resulting in a flipped vehicle blocked the intersection of 11th Ave NW and NW 57th St this morning.
Kari Keys posted the above photo in the My Ballard Group, noting that the intersection is unmarked.
Seattle Police say the collision happened at 7:40am, and the intersection reopened at 8:25am. They didn’t have information about injuries at the scene.
Always approach any intersection with caution. Seems like common sense…
And yield to the car on your right
When traffic is backed up on 8th people cut through the surrounding neighborhoods often at dangerous speeds. Time for speed bumps or spike strips.
I live off of 65th, and during the seafood fest, we receive all sorts of morons screaming up our side street. I now see signs informing people about unmarked intersections. Umm, how the F did they all then get a drivers license? To tip an auto here means 2 things: speed AND inattention PERIOD. Don’t worry though, our fearless leaders are working further on ways to eliminate another freedom: our personal autos.
Takes some skill to flip a car at 20mph.
All it really takes is an already crappy driver coupled with a smartphone and an inattention to the road.
I hope the driver(s) were ticketed for reckless driving.
And their insurance doubled or cancelled.
More roundabouts!
