Pine Tavern now open in Ballard

A new bar opened quietly over the weekend: Pine Tavern has moved into the former NW Peaks location at 4818 17th Ave NW.

Pine Tavern has a full service bar and a pretty sizable menu, with a focus on barbecue for lunch and dinner. Here’s a look at their menu (from Facebook):

Pine Tavern describes themselves as a “cozy bar with plenty of outdoor seating for the warm days and room inside for the rainy days.” Kids and dogs are welcome, and their hours are 11am to 2am every day.

The building they moved into has a long history as a watering hole: NW Peaks Brewery closed back in November after several years in Ballard, and before that, the building was home to both The Bit and 2 Bit Saloons.

  1. Great! I wasn’t particularly a fan of NW Peak’s, but this spot certainly seems like an upgrade! The fact that they are offering an affordable lunch/dinner is also a big plus. Definitely will give this place a try!

  2. This is great news. I loved NW Peaks when they were located at their original space but they went downhill IMO while in this space. I look forward to checking this new Tavern out soon.

  3. Yea, yet another place to eat and drink in Ballard. ‘Cause since Hi-Life closed there’s a shortage of watering holes. I’ll try it because…well beer and BBQ, what’s not to like?
