Update Sunday 10am: The donation collection has been cancelled. If you have supplies you’d like to donate to Swedish, visit their website to donate directly (follow this link.)
Correction: This supply drive is not on behalf of Swedish Ballard; rather, it is being organized by a member of the community who is seeking to help local healthcare workers.
Stephanie Barnes Kloster is a Ballard resident and a former RN who, last week, donated a few things she had around the hose (gloves, wipes, etc) to Swedish. She then spoke to a friend of hers, a nurse who currently works at Swedish Ballard, who gave her a list of items (below) that could be helpful for the hospital. Stephanie shared that list with a few of her local Facebook groups, and the information was shared with My Ballard.
“I know many people don’t want to leave the house, and I have friends who have supplies they want to donate [to the hospital] but have no way of getting them there,” Stephanie told My Ballard on Saturday morning. “My family is low risk and healthy, I have a minivan, and want to help.”
Stephanie plans to drive around the neighborhood tomorrow doing contact-free porch pickups in her minivan, after which she’ll go straight to the hospital to drop them off.
The hospital is reportedly not currently critically low on supplies, but are accepting donations. If you’d rather donate directly to the hospital, you may do so by following this link.
