Sunset Hill now has a new takeout option: Sunny Hill just opened in the former Lucky Santo spot, offering Detroit-style (square) pizza to-go.
Jason Stoneburner is behind the new restaurant, which is replacing the gluten-free Lucky Santo restaurant that closed late last year. The new spot is primarily focused on the pizza, with two styles on their current limited takeout menu: “crunchy-cheesy edged-square pie (aka grandma style) and a crispy-charred-thin round pie.”
The square pie options include the Chee with mozzarella, provolone, and fontina; or the Arcade with pepperoni, parmesan, mozzarella, olives, and oregano. There are a couple more options on the round pies, including the Gob Shop with confit garlic, roasted onion, rapini, and whipped ricotta; and the Uptown with prosciutto, spring kale, fresh mozzarella, provolone, and goathorn peppers.
Sunny Hill also has a burger on the menu; the simple Sunny Burger comes with umami ketchup, lettuce, and “frizzled onion.” There are also veggie side dishes (roasted asparagus and charred broccolini) and two salads on the menu.
They’re also serving wine and beer to-go; check their menu for options.
Their current hours are 3pm to 8pm, Thursday to Sunday. To order, call 206-659-0355 for pick-up (no delivery available).

SQUARE PIZZA?
…is the best pizza
Congratulations! No misspellings or other typographical errors. When you feel ready, I’d like to see you try a three word post.
Obviously you’ve never had Rocky Rococos. Probably one of the most unhealthy pizzas out there but oh so good! Also square. Pretty sure its a midwest thing.
I grew up on Rocky’s…grease with a side of bread! But sooo horribly delicious.
BTW – Square pizza is a Sicilian thing, the 2 inches of grease added on top is a Midwest thing!
A quick glance at the menu doesn’t make me want to grab the phone and madly dial them up for a pizza. Don’t care about the shape (round, square, triangular, or 8-sided) but Ingredients don’t sound like my slice-o-pie. Too much the stodgy traditionalist I guess.
that is so insightful! and interesting! tell me more about the foods you like/don’t like!
In normal times, I’d be completely down with you posting this. But now? Why kick a business down in this environment? Did they serve you a botulism taco? Did the waiter spit at you? by all means, post! But you just have this sort of vague feeling about a menu so you’re going to take a comment fart in the thread? Really? Spare us. But your post did do one thing — it swore me to ordering one of their pies this week. I’ll let you know how it was!
My new favorite saying: “In these uncertain times…” or the variations: “In these trying times…” etc. Second only to “We’re all in this together” COVID strong. It’s all ad copy!
Still mad that we didn’t sacrifice grandma and grandpa to reopen the economy?
Ahh the minority, look around, nobodies following this stay at home bs anymore. Keep hiding in your internet cave. It was a great day, today! Don’t, forget, “we got this Washington”! Time to go get some square pizza and eat it at Golden Gardens! I’ve got the beer, you can meet me at the fire pits, we’ll have a party!

Yeah, we all saw your little hissy fit protest yesterday. That was…precious.
That was me at golden gardens last night with a bunch of my friends partying at the south fire pit. Why didn’t you stop by for a beer?
Cool story bro!
More likely you were at home on the internet, sympathizing with corporate America and trying to guilt others into sacrificing their health or lives, so the shareholders can continue to make their profits.
Put your money where your keyboard is, and come interact with a real person. I’ll be there again 6:30 tonight, you should get out sometimes.
That pizza looks seriously delicious. I do believe I’ll add this biz to my takeout book!
