This year, the National Nordic Museum will be making its annual Nordic Innovation Summit a free virtual event.
The summit will be a half-day event on Thursday, May 14, from 8:30am to 11:30am. The speakers will include Nordic and Pacific Northwest leaders in sustainable economic growth, environmental stewardship, and corporate social responsibility.
This year’s event will also include a report on how each Nordic country is dealing with COVID-19 challenges, and an update from Ericsson on how 5G technology will play into helping economies recover worldwide.
Here’s a rundown of some of the highlights to expect (from the museum):
- A keynote address from Linda Hofstad Helleland, the dynamic Minister of Regional Development and Digitalization in the Government of Norway.
- A report on how each of the Nordic countries is confronting the COVID-19 challenge, by Svein Harald Øygard, economist, author, and former interim Central Bank Governor of Iceland.
- A timely update from Ericsson, the world leader in Fifth Generation wireless technology, on how 5G will transform and strengthen communications, manufacturing, health care, and virtually every sector, which will be more important than ever as the world recovers and rebuilds after COVID-19.
- An insider’s perspective on the role of technology in society by Finland’s Mårten Mickos, CEO, Hacker One, the world’s leading digital security and bug bounty platform.
- Insightful panels on corporate reinvention through sustainability leadership, how to transform traditional industries into green industries, and Nordic health care innovation.
