Golden Gardens Drive will stay closed for another month to allow for outdoor recreation.
The closed section of road is part of SDOT’s Keep Moving Streets program, in which four city parks have adjacent streets closed to thru traffic. Along with Golden Gardens, Green Lake, Alki Point, and Lake Washington Blvd all have nearby streets closed.
Golden Gardens and Lake Washington Blvd will both reopen on Oct. 5, but Alki and Green Lake will remain closed for a while longer. The Green Lake closure could remain in place through the fall and winter, depending on feedback from the community.
The streets remain closed to thru-traffic, but are open to residents and for differently-abled individuals who need access to the parks.
Updates on the individual schedules for each street closure is listed on the SDOT blog.
Keep all parks local! No one from outside the neighborhood should be allowed to use a “city” park, because I’m a progressive, I hate cars and the people who drive them from questionable neighborhoods.
Dan, I’m surprised by you. I would have guessed you wanted all parks zoned only for homeless camping and RV parking. Advocating parks for the neighbors who live near them is quite conservative.
pretty sweet for the neighborhood honestly…
Exactly, why should all the white people who live near the park deal with people from other neighborhoods using “their” park?
It’s classism dressed up as progressivism!
There’s plenty of parking near the beach, there’s plenty of parking near the top entrance, there’s even ADA access to the dog park.
Good concern troll rant, but I’m guessing you’re really mad about the lack of parking near Dan’s house!
Feedback from the community they say. OK group, think.
Various factually tenuous statements. Hyperbole. Preposterous conspiracies. Something something something. And that other thing.
A smart move for Golden Gardens drive since cars don’t mix well with cyclists (or pedestrians) on that road.
This method eventually involves vigorous https://tutuappx.com/ scrubbing with a gritty paste, which may damage softer materials like wallboard or finished wood. Use this option only for harder materials like tile or masonry.
