Yonder Cider and Bale Breaker Brewing Co are coming together to open a joint taproom in Ballard’s Brewery District at 826 NW 49th Street, formerly Populuxe Brewing.
The new taproom is set to open this summer and will feature over 20 different taps of locally made beer and cider. “We’ll bring the hops from Yakima, they’ll bring the apples from Wenatchee, and we’ll showcase the best of the east side of Washington to those on the west,” said Meghan Quinn, co-founder of Bale Breaker.
The new taproom will have over 6,200 square feet of outdoor space as well as two bars, food trucks, fire pits, and more. Yonder Cider and Bale Breaker have started a distillery together to create this shared tasting room.
Coming together to create a distillery has allowed Yonder Cider and Bale Breaker to share a space, as cideries and breweries alone cannot share space in Washington. But, due to Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board bill passed in June 2020, distilleries are able to share tasting rooms with both wineries and breweries.
