Later this month, the Leif Erikson Hall (2245 NW 57th St) will be celebrating Norwegian Cultural Heritage Day with a meatball luncheon and outdoor activities including a self-led scavenger hunt around Ballard.
Sons of Norway Lief Erikson Lodge is presenting the Tastes of Norway for the cultural celebration on March 20th. They will be offering a meatball luncheon with potatoes and cucumber salad, Norwegian cookies, rømmegrøt, and more for pick up at Lief Erikson Hall. Order and pay in advance for the Tastes of Norway lunch to go by March 14th here.
There are also other events, some virtual, the Sons of Norway are presenting for Norwegian Cultural Heritage Day. One of these events is a socially distant Scavenger Hunt in Ballard on March 19th, which includes a 2.5 mile walk around the community for clues. Register for the scavenger hunt by March 14th here and hunt to win prizes from Skål, Bertelsen’s Winery, and the National Nordic Museum.
Other events include a virtual Bunad Parade viewing at 1 pm on March 20th (video link here) and a genealogy presentation at 3 pm about accessing and understanding Norwegian ancestor records (zoom link here).
Lastly, the Sons of Norway at Leif Erikson Lodge have opened applications for 2021 scholarships for District 2 applicants who meet the requirements. To apply or review the requirements of each scholarship, please visit here. Scholarship applications are due March 30th at Leif Erikson Hall.
