A new Thai restaurant has opened in the former Brunswick & Hunt location at 1480 NW 70th St.
Koo Hoo Thai Street quietly opened its doors last week, announcing the news on social media.
Koo Hoo, which means “buddies” in Thai, will serve classics like papaya salad, pineapple fried rice (served in a halved pineapple), Nam Khao Tod, crispy garlic chicken, and Moo Ping.
On their appetizers list include fried calamari rings, chicken wings, fried mini soft shell crab, and Thai jerky. Mains include stir-fried seafood curry, stir-fried spicy basil, and crab fried rice. Desserts include mango sticky rice, fried banana with ice cream, and black sticky rice.
Brunswick & Hunt closed in January 2020 after six years on NW 70th St. At the time of their closing, general manager Tommy Pappas told My Ballard that their reason for closing was, “multi-faceted and on par with the abundant closings currently happening in Seattle.”
Koo Hoo is open for dine-in and curbside pickup 12pm to 9pm Monday to Thursday, 12pm to 11pm Friday and Saturday, and 4:30pm to 9pm on Sunday.
