One of Ballard’s most beloved brunch spots has just announced they’re closing up shop.
Biscuit & Bean, located at 5905 15th Ave NW, will close its doors for good on May 9 after eight years in Ballard. The owners announced their closure on Instagram, saying it’s not the end of their Ballard presence.
“Have no fear though, this is not the end of Biscuit & Bean,” they write. They’re keeping their Lake Stevens location open and are soon launching an LA location. “There are a lot of exciting things on the horizon for us, so stay tuned as our biscuits and gravy will be back in the Ballard area!”
The owners tell My Ballard a new business will be taking over the spot that will continue to serve their biscuits and “new items the neighborhood is going to love.”
The owners also say that customers can stock up before they close by ordering frozen or baked biscuits and gravy in bulk on their website.
Biscuit & Bean started out in 2014 as Morsel & Bean, a joint venture between the owner of Morsel and the current Biscuit & Bean owners. They parted ways after a few years, and Biscuit & Bean took over. Prior to Biscuit & Bean, the space was occupied by Blue Dog Kitchen for five years.
The owners tell My Ballard they are “overwhelmingly grateful” to the neighborhood for its support over the years. “Thank you Ballard for everything,” they say.
No news yet on who will be taking over the location, but we’ll update you with new information.
