The Amazon Fresh Pickup location in Seattle is closing soon.
GeekWire reports that Amazon will shutter its Fresh Pickup at 5100 15th Ave NW on Jan. 31. It’s been open since May 2017, serving as a grocery pick-up location for and package drop-off for Amazon Prime members.
Amazon told GeekWire that closing the Fresh Pickup will allow the company to focus more on Amazon Fresh grocery stores.
Amazon only opened two Fresh Pickups in the U.S., and the other is in SoDo. That location will remain open.
The closure comes alongside significant unrest at Amazon—the company laid off 18,000 corporate and tech employees at the turn of the year. They’ve also pulled back on opening a handful of new Amazon Fresh grocery stores around the country.
