After nearly five years in Ballard, Heritage Distilling Co. (1836 NW Market St) has closed its doors.
In a letter to customers, Heritage said the decision not to renew the lease led to the closure.
“We are so proud of the relationships that our team members built with each and every one of our Spirits Club Members and we know for them this will be unpleasant news,” the owners wrote.
“We want you to know that as part of this wind-down, we offered severance payments and extended health care coverage to our employees to give them time to find new employment.”
Heritage still operates three other tasting rooms in Washington—in Gig Harbor, Roslyn, and Tumwater— two in Eugene, Oregon.
