The Kress building on NW Market St that once served as a grocery store is now back on the market.
The building at 2220 NW Market St is now home to the Ballard Stop smoke shop on the NW Market St side of the building and the recently opened Ballard Film and Foto on the NW 56th St side.
It was also home to Bop Street Records for about a decade—from 2010 until 2020 when Bop Street closed its doors for good.
Wang Brothers Investments in Orinda, California bought 2220 NW Market St (Kress) back in 2018 for $4.2 million. In the same year, they purchased 1740 NW Market St (FedEx) for $8.3 million. Now, Kress is back on the market for just over $6.5 million.
Kress, built in 1927, is not a historic landmark and could be redeveloped if the buyers choose to do so.
