More outdoor movies planned in Ballard at National Nordic Museum and Crown Hill Park

The outdoor movie nights are in full swing in Ballard, with two new free screenings happening: One at the National Nordic Museum and the other at Crown Hill Park.

The Princess Bride at Crown Hill Park

On Friday, August 18, Crown Hill Village will host a screening of The Princess Bride at Crown Hill Park (9089 Holman Rd. NW).

The festivities will begin at 7 p.m. with trivia, a photo booth, and snacks. The organizers say attendees should bring chairs, park blankets, snacks, and if you have it, a portable radio for sound. If you don’t have one, Crown Hill Village will provide several radios. The move will start at 8 p.m.

Crown Hill Village is also looking for volunteers to help tally the trivia scores, hand out snacks, and snap pictures at the photo booth.

Knives Out at the National Nordic Museum

The National Nordic Museum’s “Nordics in Hollywood” series is coming to a close with a screening of Knives Out on Aug. 31 in the museum’s parking lot (2655 NW Market St).

There will be a food truck, but viewers should bring their own seats for the movie.

The film will start at sunset (about 8 p.m.) on Thursday. The screening is free, but reservations are recommended.

  • Aug 17th: Mars Attacks! (1996)
  • Aug 24th: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009)
