The Ballard Avenue Landmark District (BLD) Board has four new members.
The Ballard Avenue Landmark District is a nationally recognized historic district that was established in 1976.
To preserve Ballard Ave’s character, the BLD Board reviews and approves all changes to building exteriors within the district before changes are made such as signs, awnings, window transparencies, paint colors, street furniture, and new construction.
Residents voted on the BLD positions by mail—ballots were due on Dec. 12—and elected the following four people to the board:
- John Cashman won Position #2 for Property Owner
- Philipp Koman won Position #3 for Resident
- Tommy Patrick won Position #4 for Property Owner or Business Person
- David Brazeau won Position #7 for Property Owner
The board is made up of seven total members; the community elects five and the Seattle mayor appoints two. All serve a two-year term.
