The former Hotel Albatross location has turned into an oyster house called The Garrison (2319 NW Market St).
The owners of Fremont’s Le Coin are behind The Garrison, which according to their Tock profile, specializes in “Champagne & Chartreuse”.
The Garrison focuses on “tidal and coastal cuisine” with fresh meat, seafood, and shellfish.
Hotel Albatross closed almost exactly a year ago after six years on Market St.
According to Seattle Eater, The Garrison has only opened the lounge area and seating for about 20 people. Eventually, they’ll be able to seat around 150 in the larger space.
The owners Jordan Melnikoff and Joshua Delgado have plans to utilize the takeout window to sell “whatever they feel like,” they told Eater. Think chicken and waffles, tacos, or chicken sandwiches.
Their hours are Friday to Monday 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. With limited seating, they recommend reservations.
