Ballard’s Walrus & Carpenter is up for yet another James Beard Foundation award.
Walrus & Carpenter is one of the semifinalists for the Oustanding Restaurant category, alongside 19 other restaurants from around the country.
This is the third year in a row Walrus & Carpenter gained nominations in the James Beard Foundation awards: In 2023, chef Renee Erickson was a semifinalist for Outstanding Chef in 2022, Walrus & Carpenter won the Outstanding Restaurant category.
A total of 10 Seattle restaurants are on the semifinalists list:
- Outstanding Chef: Aaron Verzosa, Archipelago
- Outstanding Wine and Other Beverages Program: Eight Row
- Emerging Chef: Janet Becerra, Pancita
- Outstanding Restaurateur: Quynh-Vy and Yenvy Pham, Phở Bắc Súp Shop, Phởcific Standard Time, and The Boat
- Outstanding Pastry Chef or Baker: Ben Campbell, Ben’s Bread Co.
- Best Chef: Northwest and Pacific (AK, HI, OR, WA)
- Kristi Brown, Communion
- Grayson Corrales, MariPili Tapas Bar
- Evan Leichtling, Off Alley
- Melissa Miranda, Musang
The winners will be announced on April 3.
