The homegrown semi-pro soccer league Ballard FC today released tickets for its third season.
Ballard FC is coming off of a successful 2023 season, emerging as USL2 champions in just their second year of existence.
This year, the team will host eight matches at Seattle Center’s Memorial Stadium, its home-game location this season while the Interbay Stadium undergoes renovations.
The season opener is May 24 against Midlakes United from Bellevue. Ballard FC also qualified for the 2024 U.S. Open Cup, which will start in March.
Ballard FC has a new head coach this year: James Riley has been both a player and a coach for various teams over the years: He played in the Major Soccer League (MLS) for over a decade for teams such as D.C. United, Seattle Sounders, and LA Galaxy.
There are three new Washington teams in the Northwest Division of USL2: West Seattle Junction FC, Midlakes United, and the Tacoma Stars.
“Everything is shaping up for this to be another incredible season,” Ballard FC co-founder and president Sam Zisette said in a press release.
“With over 1,000 season ticket holders already, there is a significant level of excitement around our championship-defending season. We’re also thrilled about the opportunity to be one of the last groups to play at historic Memorial Stadium before it changes forever. Our roster is looking strong and we’re confident we have another championship-caliber program.”
Single-game and season tickets are both available online.
