Community mural on 15th Ave NW in the works

A group of Ballard residents are turning an often-graffitied wall into a community mural.

The wall is on the corner of 15th Ave NW and NW 75th St. According to Eirik Olsen, it’s a “water, to sunrise, to sunset theme.” He posted about it in the My Ballard Group on Facebook, saying anyone is welcome to join them as they paint.

Olsen will be there from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. today with paint and brushes. “We have the background finished and now need your artwork to make this into a mural. No artistic skill required. My octopus proves it!” he wrote.
