Frelard Tamales opens new brick-and-mortar restaurant and El Sueñito brewery

Green Lake’s walk-up tamale spot Frelard Tamales now has a brick-and-mortar in Fremont at 106 N 36th Street.

Owners Osbaldo Hernandez and husband Denny Ramey started Frelard Tamales about six years ago in Green Lake out of a takeout window.

This summer they closed up the takeout window and just recently opened in Fremont as both a Mexican restaurant and brewery, which is the second location of the owner’s El Sueñito brewery (the other location is in Bellingham).

Along with brews from El Sueñito, they’ve expanded the menu to include tacos, salads, and nachos, Hernandez told Seattle Eater.

El Sueñito is Washington’s first Mexican and gay-owned brewery, according to Hernandez and Ramey.

Frelard Tamales is open every day from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
