There will be some delays for pedestrians today at the Ballard Locks (Wed., Oct. 9) as crews move a crane that was being used to fix the small lock’s western gates.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) says to expect delays to pedestrian movement between the south and north sides of the locks while the crane is moved back into place. They expect it to be around midday today.
The crane was being used to make repairs on a leaky gate on the western side of the small locks, caused by a failed piece of timber. Crews completed the gate repairs last week.
