The downtown Ballard (5107 Ballard Ave NW) and Frelard (4010 Leary Way NW) locations of the Ballard Pizza Company are both closing soon, with plans to merge into one new location at 5205 Ballard Ave NW.
The new location is the former Pike Taproom, which closed earlier this year.
Ballard Pizza Company (BPC), under the Ethan Stowell Restaurants umbrella, will be the third business to operate in that location in the past few years. Bramling Cross—which was also part of Ethan Stowell Restaurants—was open from 2015 until Pike Brewing took it over in 2022.
Frelard BPC manger Russell St. John told My Ballard that the Leary location will be closing on Saturday, Oct. 18, and that the 5107 Ballard Ave location is closing the following Saturday, Oct. 26. He said the lease on the Leary location was expiring soon, and that the current Ballard Ave BPC location needs some structural work, so moving both BPC locations under one new roof made the most sense.
St. John said most of the staff from both locations will move to the new location, but that they’re hoping to help the other staff members land new jobs at other restaurants within the Ethan Stowell Restaurants network.
The new location will be a bit larger than the other former locations, with a full bar in the works and seating for about 120 people, St. John said. They’ll also have a fryer at the new location, so they’ll be able to add fried chicken wings to the menu.
St. John said they expect to be open in early November in the new space.
