Thousands lose power Sunday after downed wires cause widespread outages

Over 9,200 homes and businesses in Ballard lost power Sunday (Nov. 17) afternoon in two separate outages.

Seattle City Light said downed wires at 8th Ave NW and NW 47th St caused the first set of outages affecting 4,809 customers starting at 3 p.m. Then, equipment failure due to the downed wires caused a second set of outages affecting 4,440 customers just after 4:30 p.m.

SCL announced that power was restored at 10 p.m.
