Eldr to open in former Samara location on Sunset Hill

A new restaurant called Eldr will soon open in the former Samara spot on Sunset Hill (6414 32nd Ave NW).

Eldr means “fire” in Old Norse, according to the General Harvest Restaurant group, which is behind the new concept. General Harvest also owns Haerfest in Fremont, Autumn in Phinney Ridge, and Vendemmia in Madrona.

According to a recent social media post, Eldr will have a “live fire kitchen” focusing on “high quality proteins and seasonal vegetables.”

My Ballard tipster Ed spoke to two men working inside the restaurant last night, who said they expect to be open within the next couple of weeks.

Samara was open in that location for five years before closing in July this year.

We’ve reached out to General Harvest and will update you with any new information about the opening date.
