There’s a new Thai restaurant in Ballard: NUA Thai opened at 5410 17th Ave NW.
NUA Thai took over the former Cycle Dogs location, which closed in early 2024 after almost three years in the space. Cycle Dogs, which was a vegan restaurant specializing in hot dogs, now operates as a food cart at Bickersons Brewhouse (1514 Leary Way NW).
Before Cycle Dogs, the location was home to No Bones Beach Club, another vegan restaurant. No Bones closed in 2020 after four years in Ballard.
Some of NUA’s featured items are Suki Yaki (served as a soup or dry), which is Thai style suki-yaki sauce stir-fried with glass noodles, egg, napa, bok choy, celery, and onions; and Gui Chai Tod, which is a chive cake appetizer.
NUA Thai’s hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to midnight seven days a week.
