The homegrown board game Beers of Ballard—inspired by the Ballard Brewery District—is debuting this month.
Stefan Hock, former Peddler Brewing Co. employee, designed the game in fall of 2023. He told My Ballard at the time that he was inspired by the Ballard beer community and wanted to make a game for them. He joined forces with a local artist to “capture the essence of Ballard in a little box,” he said.
The objective of the game is to try as many Ballard beers as possible over the course of the game.
“Throughout the game, there are various events that occur, from Reuben’s Baby Goats and Brews, Peddler’s Keep the Pint Night to Seattle Beer Week. However, as you collect more beer, your buzz level goes up, and you need to visit the food truck to reduce it back down,” Hock told My Ballard.
Hock launched a Kickstarter campaign to launch the board game, which raised $9,896.
Now, the release is finally here: Hock said he’s throwing a release party at Urban Family Brewing on Thursday, Jan. 23 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. He’ll be selling the board game for $25, and everyone who backed the Kickstarter can pick up their game.
