Starbucks is planning to open a new location in Ballard in the former 7- Eleven and Jack in the Box at 999 Leary Way NW.
Both the 7-Eleven and Jack in the Box have been closed for some time. Back in 2023, a fire broke out in the building, causing the roof to collapse.
Starbucks says the new Ballard store will include the coffee company’s “Siren Craft System,” which is designed to speed up its food and beverage service. The new system includes streamlined steps for creating orders by making changes to the beverage sequencing.
For example, baristas will be instructed to pull espresso shots before steaming the milk, a move that Starbucks says will result in shorter wait times for customers.
The new Starbucks is expected to open in late May.
