One of Ballard’s oldest restaurants, Thai Siam, is closing after 38 years at 8305 15th Ave NW.
Owner Vhanthip “Nancy” Bhokayasupatt announced the news on social media, saying, “Our hearts are bleeding as we put this sentence out to [the] public. It’s [the] hardest thing for us to do.” Thai Siam’s final day open will be April 30.
“It is an incredible and amazing 38 years of togetherness and be[ing] part of [the] community that we love,” Bhokayasupatt wrote. “We are forever grateful for your support. Thank you so much for being a part of our journey. Many blessings to you all. We’ll miss sharing good memories, conversations and good meals with you.”
Thai Siam has a history of giving in Ballard—its free Christmas dinners have fed thousands over the years.
Bhokayasupatt told King 5 that she’s hoping to find a new location for Thai Siam somewhere in Ballard or Crown Hill.
