Another apartment building is going in near Swedish Hospital in Ballard, planned for 1544 NW 52nd St.
According to the Seattle DJC, Isola Homes is planning a 7-story, 58-unit apartment building on the site, which it already owns. No parking is proposed.
The existing house, built in 1906, is on a somewhat narrow lot but is already surrounded by apartment buildings. The 4-bedroom, 5-bathroom house sold for $1.9 million last October.
I wonder if they’ll have off street parking?
Or house more hate-filled conservative internet warriors.
Oh dear, another little hate-filled conservative internet warrior throwing a tantrum right now. Not very woke bro!
I mean, not being woke is his point right? The wokeness crowd is why there are tents all over Ballard. Keep trying I’m sure you’ll figure it out at some point.
So “not being woke” is being hate-filled, childish and ignorant according to your logic. Yup, I get it.
It always makes me sad to see these cute older homes torn down.
It’s always a bummer to see the neighborhood’s unique older houses replaced by the inevitable “box of apartments” but I like to think that some older homeowner might have just walked away with $1.9M that they can use to retire in comfort somewhere cheaper. [I know it was probably some faceless investment company that *actually* owned the house but a guy can dream…]
i rented an apartment here about 11 years ago – when i was there it was just a “regular ol’ guy” that owned it. can’t say for sure if he’s the one that sold or if sold to someone else years back after i moved out….
I like the thought of a retiree or regular old guy making a mint of selling so I’ll hold that thought.
The guy that just sold it bought it in 1999 for 300K.
Yes – Very lucky guy! Looks like it was a 5 unit building and owned by a landlord that owned other buildings so, no big deal. Same old, same old.
So for those of you worried about parking in these new buildings, check out what is happening in the Bronx:
