This year’s Ballard Jazz Festival is coming up soon, happening May 29 to June 1.
There are a few changes to this year’s festival, now in its 17th year: their home venue for the Ballard Jazz Walk will now be The Cathedral, the events space on the corner of Ballard Ave and Market St. They’ve also added venues in downtown Ballard to make the event walking-friendly.
The Nordic Museum will continue to host their Mainstage Concert, with featured artists including two-time Grammy Award winning saxophonist Ernie Watts with the Seattle jazz trio New Stories (Marc Seales, Doug Miller and John Bishop), reuniting after a 15 year hiatus.
Norwegian guitarist Lage Lund will perform at the Nordic alongside Seattle artists Michael Glynn and Matt Jorgensen. The organizers say Lund is acclaimed as one of the finest guitarists of his generation.
Tickets and passes are available now for the festival, which you can buy here. The festival schedule is available here.
