If you’re enamored of all things maritime, you’re in luck: tomorrow is the Seattle Maritime Festival, happening at the Maritime Academy just east of the Ballard Bridge.
The free festival, which will run from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, May 11, will include tugboat simulator piloting demos, free Argosy Ship Canal boat tours, welding demos, boat-building for kids, and a whole host of educational seminars about oceanography, oil removal, sea-survival tips, and a tour of the Schooner Adventuress.
There will be music by the Not-Its, School of Rock, and a performance by Alleyoop Musical Games and Puppets. Several food trucks will be onsite, plus a photo booth, fire boat tours, and more than 30 free maritime activities.
