Of the 100 vintage cars that started the “La Carerra Panamericana” race in Mexico, fewer than 80 finished. One of those finishers was Ballard’s own team that we wrote about a couple of weeks ago.
The team seen here raced their Volvo 122 coupe along the 2,000 mile course from just north of the Guatemalan border to the Texas/Mexico border town of Nuevo Laredo.
Driver John Voss and co-pilot Allan Peterson along with support crew of Oddvar Oggland and Oscar Sanchez Mendoza took home 3rd and 2nd place finishes in the last two legs of the seven day race.
