Earlier this week we broke the story that Tom Douglas is eyeing Ballard for a new restaurant. We’re told that although things could still fall through, he’s talking about taking over the old Via Verde space.
Rebekah Denn, author of EatAllAboutIt.com talk to Douglas about his plans. She writes that he has looked in the neighborhood before but, “They always seemed to fall through, because I’m cheap,” he told her. Denn has a complete write-up of her conversation with Douglas here.

Hopefully there will be more press elsewhere on this, because I refuse to read anything by Denn. I didn't like her reviews as a restaurant critic, or when they let her start writing under her picture in the paper. But when she refused to correct a misspelling of my job title, I haven't knowingly read anything she has written since.
But as for the Tom Douglas thing, I'll gladly try any restaurant he opens in Ballard.
Refusal to correct an error doesn't sound like the Rebekah Denn I know. And even if she did, is misspelling of a job title worth the back pain you can get from carrying such a big grudge around?
YIPEEEE perhaps he'll redo Market Street Grill!!
