It’s been nearly a year since a landslide took out Golden Gardens Drive, one of two roads between Ballard and Golden Gardens Park and Shilshole.
The city now says that the road will be open to the public, barring bad weather, by the end of this year. Workers are busy stabilizing the ground and putting in parts of a retaining wall. They hope to have this portion of the project finished this month and will then start backfilling behind the wall. Bicycle markings and signs will be added next spring.
