For the next six weeks, there will be free art lessons for kids happening at Ballard Commons Park.
Park in the Heart, now in its fourth summer, will offer art lessons on Saturdays in June and Fridays in July from 11am to 5pm. Local artist Blanca Santander will lead the classes, with support from the Office of Arts and Culture and Seattle Parks and Recreation.
The art classroom will be set up in a corner of the park near the water feature. The program focuses on using recycled household materials as art supplies, and will include a variety of different crafts such as painting, drawing, and etching.

Art comes from within and cannot be taught.
Your child now can get a head start on her MFA in Hobo Face Painting!

Hey I’ve got a great idea: we’ll fill up the parks and streets with junkies and sex offenders, then try to make the parks respectable by hosting events for kids. Pure genius!
