Whether you are looking for a meaningful gift, or adding products on a mission to your own home, this pop-up shop by Space to Shine will have a range of high-quality products that tell a story and support meaningful causes.

We’ll have beautiful products to buy, samples of specialty food products, mocktails, an interactive activity for you to take home, and more!

We will have products from the following social enterprises and brands that give back:

Treetops Collective (Grand Rapids, MI): Treetops Collective connects refugee women with their new community so they can flourish, stand tall, and impact others. We are proud to feature plates and pour-overs of their ceramics line at the upcoming pop-up. They are made by Nadia Hamad, a skilled potter trained at the University of Baghdad who reignited her work after being resettled in the US. A portion of the sales from the ceramics line go towards Treetops Collective’s community development work.

Ciderpress Lane (Bremerton, WA): Ciderpress Lane is all about people, great food, and events that bring people together. They believe that everything we do can make a difference, so every ounce of their life and business is built on giving back. From the community dinners they host, to the events that they design, books and kitchen goods they sell, and more… 10% of all of proceeds are donated to @rescuefreedom to fight human trafficking (and ALL of the proceeds of the community dinners they host are donated!). Their fair trade kitchen shop features products handmade by women artisans in Guatemala and Africa, including wooden salad bowls, table runners, salad servers, and more that add beauty and purpose to your table. We will also be featuring their cookbook, Dinner Changes Everything, which shares Kelly Welk’s heart for fighting human trafficking through community dinners at her home that raise funds for Rescue Freedom. Not only is this cookbook full of mouth-watering recipes (and gorgeous photos), it shares her insights, timelines, and stories from the incredible community who makes these dinners happen!

Through the Sea (Greater Seattle area, WA): Through the Sea is a contemporary home goods brand focused on creating space for radical hospitality in everyday life AND supporting families in the foster care system. Their beautiful tablecloths, placemats, napkins, and more make mealtimes simpler and help put the focus on real moments with family. Not only are they created with modern, trendy designs, the products are made with simplicity in mind (think wipeable, heat-resistant, easy to clean—exactly what a busy family needs), and Through the Sea’s products are ethically made in the US and the UK. The founders, Roger and Anne Marie, view their business as a way they can use their skills as designers to support children and families in the foster care system: with each purchase, 10% of profits goes towards National Angels, a nonprofit committed to creating community that empowers and provides hope to children in foster care and their caregivers, leading to sustainable change in the foster care system. We are excited to feature their home goods that do good at the September pop-up series!

Mile High Workshop (Denver, CO): Mile High Workshop is a Denver-based manufacturing and employment training program, focused on Production With Purpose. They specialize in assembly, kitting, sewing, woodworking, and second chances for community members seeking to rebuild from addictions, homelessness, and incarceration. They envision a more prosperous Denver where barriers to employment are eliminated and every member of the community is empowered with dignity through meaningful work. We’ll have their handcrafted cutting boards in cherry and maple, which are perfect for cutting or for serving and provide their trainees with learning opportunities.

Women’s Bean Project (Denver, CO): Women’s Bean Project is on a mission to change women’s lives by providing stepping stones to self-sufficiency through social enterprise. They believe that all women have the power to transform their lives through employment. When chronically underemployed women enter their program and work to create nourishing food products, they learn to stand tall, find their purpose and break the cycle of poverty. At the upcoming pop-up, we’ll have a selection of their sweet and savory mixes that make great gifts or are quick fixes for mealtime at home!

Homeless Garden Project (Santa Cruz, CA): The Homeless Garden Project provides job training, transitional employment and support services to people who are experiencing homelessness. The programs take place in their 3-acre organic farm and related enterprises. In the soil of Homeless Garden Project’s urban farm and garden, people find the tools they need to build a home in the world. Based in Santa Cruz, CA, they use produce, herbs, and spices grown on their organic farm to create the spice mixes we’ll have at the pop-up.

Pen + Pillar (High Point, NC): We love stocking Pen + Pillar cards at our events to make for easy gift giving! Pen + Pillar donates 10% of all proceeds to local refugee resettlement near their studio in High Point, North Carolina.
