Fitzgerald’s Sports Bar (5811 24th Ave NW) has shut its doors suddenly.
We first learned of the closure in the My Ballard Group when Rebecca posted that she saw sign reading “Closed until further notice” on the door, and another that said “Thanks for the patronage.”
My Ballard tried to reach the bar via phone and email, and have yet to hear back. We’ll update with any new information.
I guess all the inveterate alcoholics will only have the Stepping Stone now.
The Smoke Shop, Hattie’s, Old Pequiliar, Olaf’s, Waterwheel….lots of alky bars left.
Well you might as well name a few in Spokane. My point was, in this specific area, the only other bar frequented by obvious drunks is the Stepping Stone. Olaf’s Is upscale compared to those two.
Unfortunately your comment just makes you sound like a judgemental alcoholic who can afford to pay more for your drinks.
OMG! Hell yeah I will gladly pay an extra dollar for a beer as long as the bartenders keep the raffy guys with piss down their leg out of the place!!
@Surly – looks like maybe I hit a little too close to home…
Nope, just pointing out how judgemental your comment was.
.
Walkability! Isn’t that what urban planning is for?
Wasn’t this the old Club 200, back in the day?
Perhaps this block is in the bullseye for a tear-down sooner than later? That wouldn’t happen here in Ballard, would it? Attempting to keep up with hip millennials is not an easy task either.

OK Boomer.
Truth, personal insults help nobody. Be better, snowflake.

Anybody remember Epps?
