Spring Dance: A Historical Affair Performance
March 21, 2020 @ 4:00 pm - March 22, 2020 @ 5:00 pm
$13 – $25Arc School of Ballet (ASB) and guests from: ARC Dance Company, Seattle Early Dance, and Dance Theatre of Harlem come together to present the biennial Spring Dance performance on March 21st and 22nd. The shows present the viewer with a rich palette of historical dance.
Arc School of Ballet and Seattle Early Dance recreate courtly dances from the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries. Live musicians, as well as authentic instruments and costuming transport you on a journey through the Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque periods of dance history. Marie Chong, director of ARC Dance, has been in collaboration with Anna Mansbridge, Artistic Director of Seattle Early Dance, since 2010 producing this biennial historical journey through dance history.
This year we are very excited to have members of ARC Dance Company and Dance Theatre of Harlem dancing with us in excerpts of the ballet La Bayadere.
This family-friendly performance with live musicians takes the audience on a beautiful progression through dance history. Beginning with early court dances and finishing with classical ballet in its current form, the performances provide an educational and interesting experience for the audience.
Approximate running time of performance is 75 minutes with one 15 minute intermission.
COME CELEBRATE SPRING WITH ARC!
