Reuben’s Brews is about to roll out a new beer to help hospitality workers during the COVID-19 pandemic: the You Are Not Alone IPA.
“In a world where social distancing has become the new normal, it is essential for us to remember that we’re all in this together,” Reuben’s writes on Facebook. “That is especially true for the thousands of hospitality industry workers in Seattle and the whole of the Pacific Northwest who have been impacted by this shutdown and are struggling to make ends meet until they can get back to work.”
Reuben’s plans to donate 100 percent of proceeds from the new IPA to Big Table, a charity supporting hospitality employees who are out of work.
“This is a beer with a purpose: to help raise funds for those who have lost their jobs in the hospitality industry,” Reuben’s says.
The Ballard brewery is putting out a call to other breweries that are willing to brew their own You Are Not Alone beer and donate what they can to a charity of their choice. They’re making a template for the label and are making it available to other breweries; Reuben’s says other brewers should get in touch to discuss recipes and to get the label template.
Reuben’s You Are Not Alone IPA will be released around mid-April — check back on their Facebook page for details.
