The City of Seattle is rolling out three new free COVID-19 self-testing kiosks in Seattle this month, one of which will be installed in North Seattle at Lower Woodland Park, at 5201 Greenlake Way N.
The new Curative testing kiosks will bring the total self-testing sites to five around the city; the other new sites are Seattle Center (201 Mercer St) and one in South Seattle (2929 27th Ave S).
The Woodland Park and Seattle Center kiosks launched yesterday (Dec. 22) and the South Seattle kiosk will be open starting Saturday, Dec. 26. The kiosks will initially operate from noon to 3pm, but will eventually be open 8am to 3pm every day except Sunday.
The testing sites have been chosen based on demand, rate of positive cases, and focusing underserved populations, the City says. The new kiosks will increase daily testing capacity by more than 1,500 tests.
“As we go into the holidays, we must remember that cases are still surging in our region and hospitalizations are at record levels,” Mayor Jenny Durkan said in a statement about the new testing sites. “We must remain vigilant in order to keep our friends, families, loved ones, and communities safe.”
There will be a Curative staff member at each location to walk clients through the oral fluid swab test, and results are delivered electronically within 48 hours.
To schedule a self-test, visit the Curative website and make an appointment at the location of your choosing.
