The former Georgia’s Greek Restaurant at 323 NW 85th St is set to be turned into a 5-story apartment building.
A fire recently destroyed the old restaurant, which will be reopened in Lake City at 8007 Lake City Way NE.
The new apartment building is set to contain 72 units total, 18 of which will be efficiency dwelling units, 54 small efficiency dwelling units, and two live-work units. There’s no parking proposed in the project plans.
“The objective for these apartments is to provide housing that is within walking distance to public transportation and the neighborhood core of Greenwood,” the design packet published in May 2021 reads.
“These apartments will be a transition between the commercial and residential boundaries of the immediate area, and will create convenient housing options that are supportive of the vibrant, active, and community-oriented neighborhood.”
The architect is Cone Architecture.
While the new Georgia’s Greek Restaurant is not yet open, you can find them in their food truck: On Dec. 11, it will be parked from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Windermere Real Estate in Shoreline (900 N. 185th St) for a Christmas event with Santa, Mrs. Claus and live reindeer.
