Learn three techniques to create dynamic books using only single sheet of paper. We’ll create x-books, snake folds, and booklet pop-ups and personalize these core structures using drawing, stamping, collage, text, and thread. You’ll go home with the equipment and skills you need to continue to play with these and other folded book forms on your own.

Beginners welcome.

About the Instructor

Becky Johnston is an educator and a book artist in Seattle, WA. She is passionate about sharing bookmaking techniques with learners of all ages so that they feel empowered to explore and give voice to their unique vision. She practices curiosity and delight, and loves to wonder and question alongside fellow learners. Her mission is to engage head, heart, and hands so that people can grow as individuals and as a community. She recently made a series of book making videos as a teaching artist at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art and exhibited work in the Puget Sound Book Artists member exhibition.
