We celebrate both the spiritual and secular aspects of spring through a rich variety of choral works ancient and modern. William Byrd’s Mass for Four Voices is a beautiful fusion of Byrd’s devout Catholic faith and Renaissance polyphony, written in defiance of tremendous religious persecution. Randall Thompson’s beloved Frostiana series offers a variety of beautiful settings of Robert Frost’s beloved pastoral verse. We will showcase the compositions of two talented choir members with Sunset by S.T. Joshi and the world premiere of I thank You God for most this amazing by Brian Butz with poetry by e e cummings, and fill out the program with a lively spiritual.
