The Art in the Garden Festival is back for its 20th year this Saturday at the Ballard P-Patch.
The free yearly event—happening on Aug. 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 8527 25th Ave. NW—features local artists and music in the Ballard P-Patch along with a beer garden, ice cream vendor, and kids’ activities.
Back this year is all-day live music, with Scandinavian, Cajun, and country music in the line-up.
The festival will also host a hygiene drive for the Ballard Food Bank. To donate, bring toothpaste, soap, laundry detergent and other items to the food bank’s booth at the Ballard P-Patch during the event. If you want ideas for what to bring for donation, visit the food bank’s Amazon wish list.
“Nature, plants, and community figure prominently as themes for this small, neighborhood festival,” the organizers wrote in a press release about the event. They say the artists are all showing their work inspired by the natural world, from household goods to prints, jewellery, and decorative objects.
