A fire collapsed the roof of Jack in the Box early Wednesday morning.
No one was injured in the blaze which broke out around 4 a.m. on March 15. Seattle Fire says they arrived on the scene (900 block of NW Leary Way) at 4:18 a.m. and said flames were visible through the roof of the building.
Fire crews searched inside the structure, but could see flames breaking through the ceiling, indicating it was likely soon to collapse. SFD says there weren’t any restaurant workers inside the building and it appeared to be closed, despite signage showing that it’s open 24/7.
The rooftop of the restaurant collapsed at 4:30 a.m., and firefighters successfully knocked down the fire by 5 a.m.
SFD says they received reports from bystanders and building managers who said there was recent transient activity in a vacant office/attic space. Crews conducted a thorough search but were unable to find anyone.
