The small taproom on NW 53rd St, where Reuben’s Brews brewed its first beer, is now up for sale.
Reuben’s Brews opened at 1406 NW 53rd St in August 2012. Co-owner Adam Robbings turned his homebrewing hobby into one of the most popular breweries in the northwest in the narrow warehouse. After a successful first three years, Reuben’s expanded to open a new taproom at 5010 14th Ave NW.
The brewery expanded yet again in 2018, opening a brand new, much larger production facility at 4700 9th Ave NW. And most recently, Reuben’s opened a tasting room called The Barrel House at 1133 NW 51st St.
Reuben’s announced the news on its blog, saying that they’re looking for a new brewery to take over its 1,440-square-foot original home.
The brewing capacity of the space is 800 barrels per year, and the sale will include the brewing equipment. Along with a brewing area, the warehouse has a roll-up garage to serve drinks and drop off materials.
“This brewery and taproom will always hold a special place in our hearts,” Robbings said. “As our brand has outgrown the space, we’re looking to pass forward the successes it can offer to another brewery at the beginning of their story.”
