The Ballard Alliance has installed several new flower pots around downtown Ballard.
The new flower pots are at the intersection of NW Market St, 22nd Ave NW, and Leary Way—they’re part of a Ballard Alliance pilot street beautification project.
Anndrea Dohring from the Alliance tells My Ballard the goal of the installation is “to brighten the Ballard streetscape with vibrant flowers and greenery.”
Ballard Alliance partnered with Uplift NW to provide a bi-weekly watering service. Dohring says Kristie Kisbye, owner of Annie’s Art and Frame, helped with identifying plants for the flower pots and the design.
Other Ballard Alliance beautification projects include the utility box painting, which started a few years back.
While the planters are part of a pilot project, the Alliance hopes to expand it in future years, with sponsorship opportunities for local businesses that want to support the project.
The planters will be in place until early fall.
