Award Winning Scottish Singer Iona Fyfe Returns

September 21 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

$10 – $24

The Seattle Folklore Society presents in concert Iona Fyfe, Sat Sept 21st, 7:30pm at the Phinney center. Winner of Scots Singer of the Year 2018 and 2023, and Musician of the Year 2021at the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards, Iona Fyfe has become one of Scotland’s finest young ballad singers, and has been described as “one of the best Scotland has to offer.” She has performed with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, and is a fine exponent of the Doric dialect, winning Performer of the Year at the Scots Language Awards 2020. She has twice been invited to be an Official International Showcase Performer at the Folk Alliance International Conferences, and invited to perform for the Library of Congress Homegrown concert Series. Iona will be performing a rare solo show, accompanying herself on piano; at her few solo shows last year, several sold out, and people were held spellbound by the purity of her voice. “The combination of Iona’s voice and delivery holds us spellbound throughout, hanging on every detail of the story” – Folk Radio UK
