The Alaskan Way Viaduct will be closed this weekend for its semi-annual inspection. Both decks of the roadway will be closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The Battery Street Tunnel will also be closed from 11 p.m. on Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. During the closure, crews will repair potholes, replace sprinklers and drains and inspect lighting and ventilation. According to the Seattlepi.com, the city of Seattle will also conduct an emergency drill on Saturday to test how the city would respond to an explosion near the viaduct.
