The intersection of 24th Ave NW and NW Market St continues its transformation: The former Market Arms building (2401 NW Market St) on the southwest corner is being demolished this week to make way for a new apartment building.
The Market Arms closed in 2020, and there have been plans for redevelopment in the works for years.
The current plan is for an 8-story, 178-unit apartment building with ground-floor retail and parking for 113 vehicles.
Just across the street at the northeast corner of the intersection, the new apartment complex The Ballard Independent (below) nears completion with leases starting in January.
